Do you work exclusively in Figma?

What is a Design System and do I need one?

If your application has more than 20 screens or you plan to scale, a design system saves hundreds of development hours by eliminating ad-hoc decisions. Do you conduct user testing with real users?

Will a better-looking design increase conversions?

Not on its own. Conversions are usually lost to concrete things: it is unclear what the page offers, the call to action is hidden or there are five of them, the form asks for ten fields instead of three, or the page is slow on mobile. All of that is design work, but it is not the same as looking nicer. If your goal is more enquiries, we first look at where people drop out and change that step. A redesign without that data is expensive guesswork.

Do we need design before we know exactly what we are building?

No, and that order is a common and costly one. Design produced before the product's behaviour is settled usually gets reworked once real cases appear: empty states, errors, long names, a user with no data yet. We establish which tasks the user has to complete and in what order, then draw that. If you are at the idea stage, a rough screen flow is cheaper and faster than a polished visual that looks convincing and does not survive the first test.

We have brand guidelines. Will you work within them?

Yes, and by preference within them rather than around them. Colours, typography and logo stay yours; we build a component system on top: buttons, forms, cards, states and spacing that guidelines usually do not cover, because they were written for print and advertising rather than for an interface. Where a guideline does not survive on screen, most often because of contrast or type that is too small, we will say so and propose a change rather than quietly ignoring it.

What if we do not like the design?

That is why it is not done in one pass. The direction is agreed on a few key screens rather than the whole product, because that is when a change is cheap. If the direction is wrong, it changes before the remaining screens are drawn. What we ask in return is specific feedback: "this feels crowded" leads somewhere, "something feels off" leads nowhere, so we will keep asking until we get to the specific.

Does the design have to be accessible to people with disabilities?

For many EU businesses this has been a legal obligation since 2025 rather than a choice. The European Accessibility Act covers e-commerce, banking, transport and e-books among others, so if you sell online it likely applies to you. In practice it means sufficient text contrast, full keyboard operation without a mouse, text alternatives for images, and forms a screen reader can work through. We build that in from the start, because retrofitting contrast and structure later costs more. For confirmation of your specific obligations we will point you to a lawyer.

Will you design if someone else does the development?

Yes. We hand over Figma files, a component system, and a specification of states, spacing and behaviour at every screen width, so the developer is not left guessing. We also stay available for questions during the build, because most divergence happens exactly where the design did not anticipate an edge case. If you want, we will also review the finished implementation and list where it differs from the design.

How do we know the design works before it is built?

It is tested on a clickable prototype, before any code. Five people matching your users get a real task, for example "find the price and send an enquiry", and we watch where they stall. That surfaces most of the serious problems, and a fix at that stage takes hours instead of weeks. A five-person test is not statistics and should not be presented as such, but it reliably shows where the interface fails to communicate what you assumed it did.

Why would an off-the-shelf template not be enough?

For many cases it would be, and we will tell you when that is so. A template is a sensible choice when your needs are standard and time to launch matters more than looking different from competitors. Custom is worth it when the product has a non-standard flow the template does not cover, when the interface has to fit an existing system, or when looking like everyone else directly undermines the position your pricing rests on. That is a business decision, not an aesthetic one, and we frame it that way.
